Testimonials
A Warm and Welcoming Place
- Winn L.
“The Boulton Retirement Community became my home in October of 2022. My new apartment is lovely, bright southern light coming in the bay window, and brand new kitchen appliances reassuring me I can cook all my meals, including borscht and perogies, as though I were still in my little house on the river. Reassuring as that was, it didn’t long to let go of that dream. I’ve never liked cooking at the best of times, and while I have some favourite recipes, not cooking anything is an easy adjustment. I now find a rush of excitement each evening as I contemplate the two meal choices written on the blackboard just inside the elegant dining room. What to do with my bicycle was a big question for me when I moved in. No problem, I was told, there is a stairwell at the north side of the building where you can lock your bike and it will be safe. This I am doing and it is working out well. My balcony is a great joy for me. It is filled with bright flowers and overlooks a row of trees that lead to a park and children’s playground. A path around the building, with frequent benches to stop and enjoy the peace and quiet, is well used by the residents. In two months I will have been here a year, hard to imagine! The Boulton has become my home and I am grateful to be living in this warm and welcoming place.”
The Perfect Place for Retired Seniors
- Elvie L.
“My mother moved into The Boulton 9 years ago. She is so happy with her decision, and so am I. The public area is always so clean and looked after. A maid comes weekly to my mother's suite and does a fantastic job. Staff here are always very friendly and helpful. They always make time to talk with me if I have any questions. Mom loves the daily activities and outings planned by the Recreation Director. She is also pleased that there is a bus 2 days a week to take her to her appointments. Over all, The Boulton is the perfect place for retired seniors to live at!”
No More Shared Laundry Facilities!
- Joan G.
“I decided to move to the Boulton Retirement Home seven years ago. I made that decision after noticing a sign at the intersection of Kenaston and Boulton Bay. The sign said IN-SUITE LAUNDRY. Think of it. NO MORE shared laundry facilities. I had found the solution to other people's shredded kleenex in my freshly washed clothes! Once I moved in, I found there were solutions to many other inconveniences. I had room for a freezer in the laundry room. I had a complete stove and could bake a batch of biscuits whenever the spirit moved me. There was plentiful space for storage. The balcony was an excellent location for growing flowers The list of advantages just went on. And probably the best was that I was paying less than I had in my previous seniors' residence. Now, seven years and five months since I moved to the Boulton, I am firmly ensconced. I love my expansive unimpaired view and the amazing amount of light that my generous size windows bring in. I enjoy the treats stored in my freezer and the occasional meal a family member prepares in/on my stove. And I will never leave this source of the most delicious beef barley soup I have ever tasted.”
Staff and Residents Are Delightful
- L. B.
“My Dad moved in, 6 years ago and the Boulton has been a wonderful fit. Staff and residents are delightful. Staff are organized, and professional, especially during these COVID times. If looking for meals with accommodations and a piece of mind for your senior family members, I recommend this place.”
